THE FLYING BROOM RETURNS TO THE 1980's

ImageThe 1980s will be the theme for the Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival, which will be held 7-14 May and celebrating its 12th year. The festival will revive the spirit of the 1980s in everything from its film showings to its discussions and from its exhibition of letters about the 12th of September to its parties.

AGRADO IS COMING TO ANKARA

ImageKnown as “Spain’s mischievous girl,” Antonia San Juan, who won international fame for her role as Agrado in Almodóvar’s “All About My Mother,” is coming to Ankara for the Flying Broom International Film Festival. Three films she has directed will be screened in Turkey for the first time.

PIPPA'S PEACE JOURNEY CONTINUES THROUGH FILM

ImageThis year’s 12th Flying Broom İnternational Film Festival (May 7-14), will pay tribute to Pippa Bacca with her peace-promoting films. The festival will continue supporting Bacca’s unfinished work by screening films which tell the stories of women who struggle for peace amidst the reality of war’s horror.

"INSPIRER GIRL OF GERMANY" IS IN ANKARA

ImageThe 12th Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival is hosting the inspirer director of German cinematography, Ulrike Ottinger. In this festival where we can see Ottinger’s six films that all of them are welcomed enthusiastically and caused polemics, will take place, there will be also a photography exhibition consists of her works.

"YOUNG WITCH" AWARD FROM THE FLYING BROOM

ImageThe 12th Flying Broom International Film Festival, May 7-14, 2009, will award young actresses with the title 'Young Witch'. There are several strong candidates for the award, which is to be presented on the festival’s closing night.
